The British Touring Car Championship is one of the most prestigious motor racing series in the world, boasting an unrivalled heritage which stretches back more than 65 years; something that has only gone on to underline its status and enduring appeal.

Established in 1958 as the British Saloon Car Championship, the series was renamed the British Touring Car Championship in 1987 and hasn’t looked back since – becoming the go-to place for fast-paced, close-quarter tin top action.

Never standing still, the championship has become a staple of global motorsport and prides itself on having pioneered the introduction of novel crowd-pleasing race formats and technology, such as the introduction of the hybrid system in 2022.

Comprising of 30 races across ten events at some of the UK’s premier race venues, the BTCC entertains hundreds of thousands of spectators that flock trackside whilst millions more tune in to watch action on ITV courtesy of the unprecedented broadcast deal that is in place.

In addition to the on-track entertainment, one of the biggest attractions of the BTCC has been its ability to connect with its fan base. It’s open paddock policy, which allows fans to get up close with both drivers and cars, is what sets it apart from its rivals.
